Clinton Township Case Review

It seems impossible right now. It isn't. Tell me what happened — we'll go from there.

Is now a bad time to find out where you really stand?

This office only helps people currently accused of a crime — ideally before charges are filed, or right after arrest. If that's not you, I'm not the right attorney. If it is, every hour matters. Don't wait until Monday.

Where your case is heard

41-B District Court — and what happens next

The 41-B District Court covers Clinton Township, Mount Clemens, and Harrison Township. Misdemeanors are handled there; felonies are arraigned and examined there before being bound over to the 16th Circuit Court a short drive away in Mount Clemens.

Gratiot and Hall Road generate most of the township's traffic-based cases — OWI, suspended license, and drug or weapon charges arising from stops. The township also produces a significant number of assault and domestic violence files, and a growing number of internet and fraud allegations investigated by the Macomb County Sheriff.

Because the district and circuit courts are so close together here, a felony can move from arraignment to circuit court arraignment in a matter of weeks. That compressed timeline is exactly why the preliminary examination should not be waived reflexively — it is often the only sworn testimony you'll get from the complaining witness before trial.
